Christmas Market on Tuesday

Come along to shop, support local businesses and artisans!
The inaugural Rosendale Christmas Market is where you can do your Christmas shopping, chat to friends, chomp on mince pies without leaving the comfort of Herne Hill. All the stall holders are either parents or local businesses selling homemade candles, hand-stitched cushions, chutneys and jams made from locally grown produce. It starts at 7pm and goes on until 9pm, so come along and bring lots of cash!
If you can help out on the night we would be MOST appreciative. 6-9ish, just drop us a line at rosendalepta@gmail.com.

Wooo-ooooo!

It's nearly Halloween and we're hoping to run a very spooky Friday afternoon before half term. We've got a brilliant list of things to do, and several willing helpers! But we need more! More! MORE! We need fang-packers, scary cake-bakers, spooky story tellers, plus people to work on stalls for an hour or so on the night - October 25th.
Whether it's helping out in advance - sourcing plastic fangs and putting together a halloween treat bag. Or helping on the night for an hour or so on a stall, any help is gratefully received. Just email us at rosendalepta@gmail.com and tell us what you'd like to do.
The list of stalls is as follows, unbolded ones are available!

GAMES
Hanging donuts
Lucky dip - scoop out plastic insects from wallpaper paste slime. Do you fancy setting this up, we can point you in the right direction. Or would you rather man it for an hour or so?
Horrific holes - let children put their hands in some holes in a wooden panel. Inside there is all sorts of scary hideousness. We have the wooden holey thing and can help someone organise, or would you like to man it?

SELLING
Face painting and tattoos - can you help out here?
Treat bag, selling teeth - blood and innards ….. a spare parts stall - plastic money spinner - could you prepare the treat bags in advance or sell them on the night. They are quite a good moneyspinner so it would be great to have them this year.

DRAMA
Poems
Zombie dance off
Spooky stories - there are several spooky story tellers in the school, but we just need help setting them up in a spooky classroom and then letting everyone know when the story telling takes place.
Pumpkin Carving

FOOD
Spooky cakes - can you bake some for that morning?
Ghoulish Grub
Hot ginger and rum
Popcorn stall - can you spend an hour selling popcorn?

Hello Autumn!

Dear all
We had a great meeting at the Prince Regent last night, and welcomed some new faces! Thanks for coming everyone. We decided that this term we would do a Hallowe'en celebration on the last day, Friday October 25th. And a Christmas fair on a date to be decided, in December. There were also vague thoughts of doing a Christmas shopping night, separate to the Christmas fair. A time when grown ups could come without kids and buy great gifts from some of the brilliant small business located around here. We don't have anyone to organise that element of it - so if you're interested, just let us know! Email rosendalepta@gmail.com.
More details from Shona about the Hallowe'en fair are to come!
Have a great term everyone.

A bit more dosh...

Thanks for all your responses. We now have 38 respondents who are happy to have a Pedder Estate Agent Board in their front garden advertising the fair. That's £570 we've made. But it would be great to make a bit more! Please send your name and address to rosendalepta@gmail.com if you're up for it. And if you could send the previous blog post to any friends you have at school, that would be great. Our aim is 100 boards and we're still quite short. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Free money

The summer fair (or festival) is coming soon and we've got the chance of making LOADS of money really easily. Pedder have offered to pay £15 for every board they put up advertising the festival around Herne Hill. Just imagine, if 100 people agree to have a board up in their garden, that's £1,500 we'll have made for the school. That's thousands of charming, gappy little smiles we'll have have helped create. How can you refuse? Go on..at the moment we have the massive total of 24 households, which is great. That's £360, but it's a slog making money for the PTA so if we could make a load now, that would be great. Just email rosendalepta@gmail.com with your name and address. Thank you.

Last day of term EGG-stravaganza!

How EGG-straordinairy! It's Easter already.
And to celebrate the coming of spring (finally) and the last day of term, we're organising an Easter EGG-stravaganza, and we'd really like you to be there!
Whether it's knocking chocolate eggs off the coconut shy, joining in an egg hunt, racing with an egg and spoon or just chomping on some hot dogs, we'd love to see you on Thursday March 28th!
Obviously all these fun and games need an element of organisation and a bit of man power, so if you're up for it and can help out, or have an idea for a fun stall, then drop us a line by email to rosendalepta@gmail.com.

Drink!

Christmas is over. We've nearly made it through January, and to be honest, we need a drink. So come and join us for a boozy beverage and a bit of a chat at the Half Moon pub's snug on Thursday, January 31st (I'm second on the right, but my teeth are whiter in real life). We'll be talking about how we can buy second hand uniform before anyone else (surely a PTA perk?) when we organise the second hand uniform sale, and many more exciting/worthy things. But mainly we'll be there for the alcohol and the gossip. Come and join us!
